NL Van 29 mei tot en met 1 juni 2025 wordt de buurt rond de Lange Koepoortstraat, Wolstraat en de Oude Beurs omgetoverd tot het decor van een levendig en artistiek straatfeest. Deze bijzondere braderij legt de nadruk op de eigenheid van de wijk, de veelzijdigheid van de lokale handelszaken en de creatieve kracht van ondernemers én bewoners.
Het evenement vindt plaats tijdens Antwerp Art Weekend, waarvan Dingen die niet verkopen dit jaar deel uitmaakt in het OFF-programma. Dit initiatief is een samenwerking met verschillende buurtwinkels en horecazaken. De braderij wil niet alleen het commerciële aanbod in de verf zetten, maar ook de vele vormen van artistieke expressie die in de buurt leven, een podium geven.
Een belangrijk element in het programma is de samenwerking met de masterstudenten In Situ van de Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten Antwerpen. Zij werken mee aan de artistieke vormgeving van het geheel: van de inrichting van kraampjes tot performances, installaties en straatinterventies. De studenten zijn de komende weken actief aanwezig in de straten om hun projecten verder vorm te geven in dialoog met de buurt.
De braderij vindt plaats tegen de achtergrond van jarenlange openbare werken die de wijk zwaar onder druk hebben gezet. Met dit evenement krijgt de buurt opnieuw een gezicht, een stem én een feestelijk moment om naar uit te kijken. ENFrom 29 May to 1 June 2025, the neighborhood around Lange Koepoortstraat, Wolstraat and the Oude Beurs will be transformed into the setting of a lively and artistic street party. This special fair emphasizes the uniqueness of the neighborhood, the diversity of local businesses and the creative power of entrepreneurs and residents.
The event takes place during Antwerp Art Weekend, with Dingen die niet verkopen as a part of their OFF program this year. This initiative is a collaboration with various local shops and catering establishments. The fair not only aims to highlight the commercial offering, but also to give a platform to the many forms of artistic expression that live in the neighborhood.
An important element in the program is the collaboration with the In Situ master students from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. They contribute to the artistic design of the whole: from the design of stalls to performances, installations and street interventions. The students will be actively present in the streets in the coming weeks to further shape their projects in dialogue with the neighborhood.
The fair takes place against the backdrop of years of public works that have put the district under great pressure. With this event, the neighborhood once again gets a face, a voice and a festive moment to look forward to.
